VidGear là một thư viện Python đa luồng mạnh mẽ, cho phép các nhà phát triển phần mềm tạo ra các ứng dụng xử lý video một cách dễ dàng. Thư viện này được xây dựng với hỗ trợ cho nhiều API, mỗi API có khả năng và chức năng độc đáo riêng. Mục tiêu chính là xử lý và quản lý dữ liệu video hoặc luồng mạng đặc thù cho thiết bị một cách dễ dàng. Điểm tập trung của thư viện là dễ sử dụng và cung cấp tích hợp đơn giản để đạt hiệu năng cao khi xử lý các công việc xử lý video phức tạp chỉ với vài dòng mã Python.
